Dementia Care

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is a dementia capable agency with highly trained, professional staff here to provide competent support and services.

Our Dementia Care Specialist (DCS) can help educate family members, provide support, and connect caregivers to services.

The mission of the Wisconsin Dementia Specialist Program (ADRC: Support for People with Dementia and their Caregivers | Wisconsin Department of Health Services), is to support people living with dementia, and their family members and care partners; to ensure the greatest quality of life possible, while the individual is living at home.

In order to accomplish their mission, the DCS has the following main goals:

  • Provide education and support to individuals and families.
  • Assist in raising awareness of the unique needs of people living with dementia and their families to local businesses, employers, faith communities, and civic organizations.
  • Help in developing dementia-friendly communities that support people living with dementia and their care partners, and allow a person living with dementia to remain safe and active in their communities.
  • Ensure that ADRC staff and volunteers are trained and knowledgeable about dementia, and are prepared to meet needs and serve supportively.
